When I Consider the Rage In Me

When I Consider the Rage in Me

When I consider the rage in me
That life should end – for life should be—
That heartbeat---is a sacred thing—
Beat --my heart!-- and think-- my brain!
‘twas dark before I op’ed my eye,
And dark again one day ‘twill be,
But this is my day, and so I cry
When I consider the Rage in me.
