When He Comes Home

She leaned out with quiet looking at the stars the window sill cold the air barely alive her dreams are of him the one who makes her whole her prayer for the night are of him coming home everyday her feet take her to the front door ready to open it for him once more no one is there he didn't come home how long will she wait her life is going on without him and it hurts so she prays and she's hopeful and will love him just the same today is the day she can feel it she opens the door and he is there they're arms wrap around kisses are flying tears are streaming she doesn't care because he is Daddy and she's only 5.
