When Angels Fall

*************

The angel falls…
With tears she calls,
"I'm ready.
Take me home!"

She hears His voice,
"You've made this choice.
You will not be alone."

She cries to Him,
"I can't do this.
I do not want to stay!"

"Please hold on tight
with all your might;
I'll help you find your way.
Now take my hand
and follow me -
I will lead you there.
I've seen the tears
fall from your eyes;
I've listened to your prayers."

"I trust that you
will see me through,
yet still I am afraid.
Been here so long,
tried to be strong...

...my life I'd gladly trade.

Please take me home,
I'm begging you!
I've never asked before.
Do what you must;
with faith, I trust
you'll open heaven’s door.
I wanted joy, love,
peace and laughter;
I never was prepared
for all the pain
that bears my name.
I'm left beyond repair."

"I say to you
this life will do,
but you must go and live it!
You need a change,
so, rearrange,
the best that you can give it.
You have it all,
all that you need
to make this life worth living.
Stand up again,
pick up that chin.
Now go,
and don't stop giving!"
_____________

At times like these,
I have felt peace;
been lifted from my sorrow.
I thank Him for
the sweet release....
when hope lasts through tomorrow.

Wow, that was an amazing response, my friend. Thank you so much ~ And I'm glad you liked the song, too :) Kind of hard to read along as it plays, but worth the listen separately ;) hugs

The poem is long and not my best piece. I wrote it after a serious illness and my writing skills have improved a lot since then.. I would feel embarrassed to post it. .

No worries, but might it be worth a revision? I've been a bit reluctant to post some really old pieces, such as this one, but they have been surprisingly well-received. I totally understand though :)

Life can get tough at times and feels as though it's not worth it to go on, but there is always a reason for us being here, no matter what the weight we carry. Deeply touching and affecting as well as encouraging and uplifting. Nice to see a new one from you. Beautifully done my friend.

Words of reassurance in moments of distress and despair..the second to last stanza spells the essence of your poem--so well written, HT!
