What’s Under My Bed

This realization came to me
After dawn, as I sleep
Sneaky, and my eyes do seek
What is there? No reply or peep

Something is here in my room.
It's definitely a monster, I assume
But this story I must resume
Though it's me, it may consume

A creaky noise in the corner; there
And a shadow making me aware
That I'm not alone; I must prepare
The worst I fear too much to bear

I close my eyes, draw my blanky near
Waiting for the monster to appear
Now, I am overwhelmed with fear
I will be devoured; this is very clear

Is that a growl I hear? Oh the dread
The dripping of drool, oh, I'm dead
Oh yikes! It's now under my bed
Trembling, what is there? Fearfully said

I gather enough courage to take a peek
Not knowing what horrors I truly seek
My knees began to shake, I am so weak
Oh! Just shadow my dog so go back to sleep!
