What's the meaning of this life

What's the meaning of this life
To birth a fair wee bairn
To grow and nurture love and peace
For the world to gain

The child becomes an adult
Their knowledge knows no bounds
Their wisdom and ferocious strength
Stands witness all around

The child becomes a parent
The love it lingers on
It spreads and intertwined as one
But soon the child is gone

The earth it keeps on turning
Whirling through the day
Until you stop and notice
All you loved has gone away

The early times forgotten
The memories faded now
The end of life is nearing
The end of love is now
