What's Important
Is the title an answer or question.
Or merely a posing suggestion.
From where I stand, I never can tell.
If I should whisper or if I should yell.
Is there reason enough to continue?
Is the news new enough to be new?
What's important is that we're alive.
And that we continue to strive.
But what can we hope to attain?
When we dig deep inside of our brain.
And the best we can find is a mind.
That is full of what we left behind.
Well when today is all that there is.
Just sloe down with a little gin fizz.
For there's really not much that is pressing.
And let's face it, for the most part we're guessing.
