What's Going On

What's going on?
Hell maybe it's me?
All the going down
In our society

Well I don't
What's happening at the border today
People coming into this country
Working below minimum wage

It's a shame
We've got thugs committing crimes
Beating up women and children
Not doing any time

All I know
If our government has its way
They're stealing our freedom
A little every day

Let’s get back
And unite before we fall
They say it's always darkest before dawn
What's going on?

What's going on
We've got bias - conflicting news
When you turn on the tv
You don't know who speaks the truth

And then they say
It's all going to be alright
Well tell that to our brothers
With PTSD from the fight

How do - we move on
It's always darkest before the dawn
What's going on?

(Guitar solo)

If you think
This world revolves around you
Well let me tell you something
You don't have a damn clue

What's going on?
Guess I can only pray
I'm going to work 40 hours
And respect the Veterans - that paved the way

All I know
If our government has its way
They're stealing our freedom
A little every day

Let’s get back
And unite before we fall
They say it's always darkest before dawn
What's going on?

What's going on?

What's going on?

Perfect! Your song is truly reflective of our times. It emphasizes the need to unite as an American people, which is so very true. We are in troubled times, that's for sure. Nice piece, poet!

Thanks Katharine, I'm not sure what's going on, but it is time for a change. I believe there is a way for us all to respect each others differences and remain united in our efforts to keep this country great. Thank you so much for your kind comments.
