Whatever The Year, When A Child

A more simple time
Easier smiled through.
Could it otherwise appear?
Whose air, echoing, more clear
Freedom's shout. Friends drew.*

Daring wanderer's;
Undespaired about!
Home door, ma? Dusk-oped, received.
With nothing bought as retrieved
Pond, storm drain from out.*

* Large green spaces
* Tadpole, ball
