What'D You Expect
One day many years ago.
I learned something that many know.
That if you give more than you've got.
Then people will expect alot.
I then decided to lay low.
With nothing much to ever show.
I started to lose their respect.
What can I say, what'd you expect.
With all that time on idle hands.
A person starts to understand.
That nothing much ever gets done.
If you don't make hay under the sun.
The caulk dries out, the paint will fade.
All because of the vow you made.
To not get in over your head.
But, crying out loud, get out of bed.
