What You Must Go Through
I see others stuck where I was stuck
Self destructive in a rut
Trying to pull themselves back up
feeling that they've had enough
And I know that they're facing hell
Turning corners overwhelmed
A brutal truth to what derailed
The Course of pain from how they failed
Which they avoid procrastinating
Drowning sorrows intoxicated
moments of them seeing straightness
To much hurt to be contemplated
Seeking any other angle
One that's not too hard to handle
Scared to actually stand up tall
unprepared to embrace the scandal
And I think of what I went through
Knowing things which I can't prove
That told me just what I must do
Movements judged unjust untrue
Seeing friends for what they are
cutting ties and speaking harsh
Being told I'm fake and farce
Whilst staying true with open scars
Starting new from that existence
staying firm and with persistence
feeling a world of resistance
digging deep and keeping distance
All alone but never breaking
Enduring each day isolated
Trapped with all of my heart aching
ensuring I reached separation
Away from everyone I knew
Fresh perspective starting new
The mountain peak that I outgrew
That others now refuse to view
They must change their way of thinking
Stop the drugs and stop the drinking
Learn to take from what defeats them
pursue the light though dim and blinking
