What Use

What use to me is your body
If your mind is off elsewhere
What use to me are your kisses
If you really do not care
What use to me are your promises
That you don’t intend to keep
I might as well get wasted
And go and fall asleep

What use to me are the photographs
That you dared to share with me
You never meant to stay that long
This now I plainly see
What use are all the memories
Deep inside my head
Of good times we were making
I might as well be dead

What use are tears on pillows
Or aching in my heart
They would not stop you leaving
We would still end up apart
I’ll harden up the next time
Won’t let my feelings free
Sorry if I seem so distant
I’ve been hurt before you see

Another great poem. I just loved it. We have all bee hurt once, or twice before. That is why it is so hard to trust sometimes. Thanks for sharing this wonderful poem... Lucilla

Your poem is a sad one too. A nicely emotive poem. I enjoyed reading it. I think many have known this feeling.

Thank you Andie it was known by myself as well. only too well the pain of separation after a long time married and left in a bad way. Still the Sun does shine again even if we feel that it never will again. Thank you for popping by , hope I did not depress you too much. Andy
