What the Heart Can Give

Stop and ponder what the heart can receive,
put everything else aside, forgetting gifts and flowers:
what's more memorable when gladly you give?
I stress the importance of genuine love to compromise!

Valentine's day was set aside for lovers who may give for the wrong reasons,
not rekindling passions and renewing vowes only expecting something of value...
and by making the same mistakes, they go on a shopping spree ignoring this clue:
that material things aren't as important as hugs and kisses that please!

My advice may not sound pleasant, but it's as pratical as truth...asking myself,
" What the heart can give without those ruby rings that encourage pretense? "
