What Shall I Write
The day is done in oblivion
The sun is now tucked in his bed
I sit here on my desk preplexed
And the moon lamp shines over my head
What is it I should write about
I cannot seem to think
A long lost love Or the clouds above
Or my friend's lovely rings?
Asked the moon what I should do
But he doesn't seem to know
And as for the stars,
They seem so far
Busy in their gossip and glow
I thought I'd write of existential things
But you need a mood for that
And I've written enough of the songs of spring, of memories and lilacs.
The clock now seems to tick away
The time goes speeding by
I shall now write another day
And try and try and try!
