What Really Matters
An old relative once told me that all
I needed in life were friends
That I didn't need money, a fancy house, or
the latest fashion trends
That what was inside mattered more
Than poularity or the winning score
That if people only liked me for those
reasons, they'd crossed the line
And weren't worth my time
Years later, my boyfriend and I got into a fight
And since then, I've known, all along she'd been
right
