What Price Freedom?
Freedom, what a Glorious word,
In some countries a never experienced act, only something someone once heard.
It is not something that comes without cost,
It’s a daily struggle with millions of lives that are lost.
When we allow one freedom to be taken away,
It means lost lives were lost in vain and to me that’s not okay!
May God continue to bless our country, but we must not waiver or compromise,
Or listen to their gilded words as they fill us with lies.
How many young are buried on foreign shores, protecting our rights,
Giving their all, defending our freedom as they continue these fights.
Don’t disrespect them, don’t dishonor their deeds,
This was the cost of freedom they are the seeds.
Not all that have battled died, but they are heroes the same,
God knows their courage and remembers their names.
We need to be loyal to those troops in the field,
And never one freedom should we give or one bullet should we yield.
I’ll share what I have but you can’t take it away,
My freedom I enjoy, but who do I owe, who do I pay?
It’s already been bought, it was blood that was paid.
And it will never be sold, nor given in trade.
