What of Tomorrow

There came a morn when the sun didn't rise -
When all bodies became souls in limbo.
Rivers all ran away from the dark sea,
And the mountains stood calmly akimbo.

Beings on planets some light years away
Gazed at the sight that happened long ago.
They studied the habits of Earth's beings -
From Baptist to Zen and from friend to foe.

They sought to determine what worked on Earth -
Who gained when tomorrow never came?
Surely that answer could help others
Involved in life's struggles all the same.

Procrastination was the winner!
A clear choice for the human race.
Countless problems they postponed a day -
To a tomorrow that never came.
