What My Parents Said
Never take for granted
what your parents say.
In so many ways, it will
make a memory, and will
also make your day.
Oh, the beauty of their words;
Like pleasant music to my soul.
Were I a song writer, I write a song.
Were I a musician, I'd sing a song
My Daddy often said,
"I'm going out west
where the eagles
build their nest; where
you get rewarded for
doing your best".
After a long time away
from home, my Mama said,
"Don't you want to come
home to see your mama?"
When my Grandma sent us
to the store, she would
always say, "Go in a haste
and come in a pace".
That's what my Daddy said.
That's what my Mama said.
That's what my Grandma said.
What they said is now a sweet memory.
