What My Name Is

What my name is...

What my name is, I ask and noone knew
Sitting down alone feelin'real blue

What my name is, Mama did and could not tell me
O'my Lard what could it be...

What my name is, I want know
Because my Mama did not tell me so

My chill'ren want know what my name is, O'my Lard!
...and this I can't avard't...

Aunt Lou, what my name is, "No baby, I don't know"
I think yo'daddy's name was Morgan, but I am not fo'show

Uncle Fred, what my name is, "No, don't chu' know
I think yo'daddy's name was Grant, but I am not fo'show

What my name is, this can not be
Where do fit in the family tree...

Good poem. It is very hard to not know who we really are, but life still goes on. God knows who we are. That is all that matters. God bless. Lucilla
