What Makes Me

I like cool shoes
And old CDs
Psychology books
And African beads,

Bangle bracelets,
Big earrings,
Cute T-shirts,
Worn in jeans,

Good conversation,
Good company,
Good journalism,
Photography,

Bible stories,
Black history,
Spiritual awareness,
Positivity,

Fashion Shows,
Old magazines,
Writing articles
And poetry,

Bright ideas,
Ingenuity,
Do-it-yourself
Type creativity

Anything different
And interesting
Captures my interest
And inspires me

It doesn't take a million dollars,
Fancy clothes, or diamond rings,
Because at the end of the day,
That won't satisfy my needs

If I could have real love
Then I'm living the dream.
I'm a simple girl,
I like simple things
