What Lies Ahead

A wasteland lies
in front of me,
an inferno lies
behind,
for the darkest lies
you told me
were the lies
that left me
blind

The blackened skies
are above me,
the cold ground lies
beneath,
for the cruelest lies
you told me
stole my soul
as would a
thief

Hell's what lies
alone for me,
forsaken to
this strife,
for the coldest lie
you told me
was when you
pledged to share
a life
