What Kind of Owl Reads
What kind of owl reads? We asked each other.
My uncle, my grandpa, and my hoot owl brother.
I stared at the barn owl, wondering how they were related.
And my horned owl mother she said, since she and daddy dated.
I was surprised and wondered what was going on in her house.
Most owls do not read books, they chase rabbits and maybe a mouse.
Do they eat meat? I asked, afraid the answer might me no.
Oh, yes, she agreed. Where ever they go.
So, they are fairly normal, except that they read.
What are they going to try and do – educationally succeed?
A hoot owl gave me a snotty condescending look.
I would share, he told me, but can you read a book?
