What Is War

The leaders sit round a table
debating who's wrong and who's right,
neither one will compromise
committing their countries to fight,
so they round up the innocent and able
and send them off to war,
with logic aside and reasons not given
they won't know what they're fighting for,
but they must obey their orders
from their leader at home with his wife,
he's never involved in the fighting
for that may endanger his life,
fight for your country, kill if you must
'til the battle is won you'll remain,
then if you're lucky, you'll be rewarded
by seeing your families again.
