What Is War

I can hear a distant ringing,
But where is it coming from?
I can smell smoke,
But where is it coming from?
I can see their dead bodies,
But where did they come from?
I can taste ashes flying into my mouth,
But where are they coming from?
I can feel the weight of a gun,
But where did it come from?
(talks about emotionally falling into a pit of despair)

This poem was not very personal, but it was still fun to write. It is supposed to be about a man with PTSD who comes home from a war and kind of goes crazy. He is still experiencing the war from his home and it scares/confuses him. If any of you can relate, I'm very sorry.
