Why does this seem so unreal?

Why does the far seem so near?
What is this thing that I touch?
Why do I want this so much?

Which to do?....Stay or Go?
What is this thing that I say?
Will this thing happen....today???
What is this thing that I think?
Why stand on this called the brink?
What is this thing that I want?
Why does it tempt me and taunt?
What is this thing that's so rare?
Why should I take the thing's dare?
What is this thing that I need?
Which to do?....Test or concede?
What is this thing that's so deep
which causes me not to sleep?
What is this thing in the air
which seems to always be there?
What is this thing I desire?
Why does this set me on fire?
