What Is So Special About Christmas
Is it the flashing lights
That decorate the town?
Is it the gifts we search for
Until they can be found?
Is it the choirs that sing
Well into the cold, dark night?
Perhaps it’s the trees and their decorations
That make such a magnificent sight?
Is it the food, family and friends?
Is it the joy of giving?
What’s so special about Christmas,
Opposed to the rest of the year’s living?
Is it the fact that it’s a holiday
And work is left behind,
Or is it because of the surprises
That under a tree we find?
What’s so special about Christmas?
Have you ever asked this question?
Perhaps the real reason is one
That few these days do mention.
Has Christmas become a by-word
Replaced by ‘Happy Holidays’?
Is the greatest gift of all
Hush-hushed on our highways?
Is it no longer politically correct
To tell the meaning of Christmas;
When a babe was born to mankind
And was declared to be called, Jesus?
What’s so special about Christmas?
The greatest gift of all time;
Given to a world lost in sin—
A Savior to restore us to the Divine!
