What Is Love

Is love happiness?
Or only pain…
Temporarily hidden by kind words and gentle caresses?

Is love truly about caring and understanding?
Or simply a game people play in fun?

Is love laughter?
Or hidden tears…
to be shed behind closed doors?

Is love honesty and trust?
Or only a wolf in sheep’s clothing…
Trying to steal yet another unsuspecting heart?

Is love really delivered by cupid’s arrow?
Or is it a deadly bullet…
Piercing through your heart?

Is love forever?
Or is it America’s true favorite pass-time?
