Notes About The Poem
Must be a friend to have a friend (not original from this author but I am a believer)
What Is Friendship
What is Friendship

What is friendship, who is to say
How do we know, when it comes our way
Who is this person, what have they got
Are they a friend ,or are they not
Look in the mirror, who do you see
Who is that looking back at me
There may be work, some things to mend
The answer, must be, my best friend
Don't look away, don't close your eyes
Try that thought on just for size
That thought must fit, for in the end
Befriend yourself, to be a friend
With that said, now draw the line
You like yourself and that is fine
But all is not about just you
All others are their best friends too
Share with others, with no regret
Give of yourself and you will get
More than you could ever think
Come to the well and take a drink
Fill the glass to quench your thirst
Offer some to others first
Take your drink last, and at the end
I'm sure you will have made a friend
