What Is Faith

As I navigate the road of life
Into an area unknown to me
My view is often obstructed
When the road ahead, I cannot see

A sign advises, there is a river
In the valley, around the curve
Do I wonder if there is a crossing
Although conditions I can't observe

I do not stop and walk ahead
I have faith there will be a bridge
That will buoy me to the other side
Just beyond, this unseen ridge

I have faith that a state department
Has provided a bridge for me to cross
Although it may have been expensive
It was needed, whatever the cost

As I drive down a busy highway
And the vehicle ahead, I choose to pass
I make a decision to change lanes
By what I view, observing ONLY a glass !

If I have faith in these elements
That was created by the hand of man
How could I ever dare to doubt
That whatever God promises; "He can"

"By faith ", is a term so often used
Relating to promises, made by God
Concerning issues in this life
And after our bodies, return to the sod

I have faith, His sacrifice on the Cross
Will atone for all my sin
When I stand at Heaven's gate
Faith tells me, He'll say = "enter-in"
