What If I Were Death

What if I were death, and I came to take your hand... Would you walk with me with ease, that promised land? Or, Would you fight me, at every twist and turn, Because, the life you didn't treasure, for it, now you yearn! Would you refer me to another, and your turn, you'd try to delay, begging and pleading, that I visit another day? Or Would you strut proudly, through the gates, commanding the way, Because you lived right, and looked forward , to this day. What if I were death, and I took you in your prime, Would you understand that I gave you life, So I, pick the time? What if I were death and I came calling late at night, Would you welcome me, or would I cause you fright? What if I were death, and I told you that all, will meet this fate... And that, the only secrecy is, the hour and the date! I am death, and I will come for you, So be ready, in all you say and do!
