What If

What If

What if we never had a need and greed for war
Powers that be quenched their thirst no more
What if we saw each other as one human race
Where greed and hatred does not have a place

What if the powers that be told all the truth
When you believed, wide eyed in your youth
What if we stood our ground against evil men
As our elders did, oh so brave they were then

What if we just recognized people for who they are
Acceptance for all people from both near and so far
What if tolerance and respect were the new normal
Where living your own lifestyle, your way so informal

What if we all showed a little random act of kindness
Showing only love, no longer exhibiting our blindness
What if we all gave up a little more of our precious time
Perhaps we all might find this world little more sublime

What if………..
