What I Was
It’s not what I was but what I have become,
It’s where I’m going, not where I’m from.
No longer a self centered fool,
But a desire to be God’s tool.
Gone is the jealousy, lust and hate,
Now I’m full of love, can you relate?
No longer an angry beast,
I want to be humble, and the very least.
A heart can change, it can be,
God can give us a new identity.
If we turn our hearts over to the Lord,
And have faith in God’s word.
What I was has gone away,
This new creature in God is here to stay.
Come now and join me,
And find out how happy you can be.
