What I Hold Inside

Some days I get up
And wonder why I still try
People pound me down
Letting rumors fly
I fall into step with them
Letting people think what they want
And I don't say a word in my defense
Making me live as a sample
Of the beauty I hold inside
But I'm ready to rise above them
And what they've made me become
I'm ready to let the world see
How great I can truly be
I've come a long way already
I can see the changes
Taking place around me
I'm finished with the past
It's time to live for me
