What Have You Lost?

Searching your thoughts,
Searching your mind,
What have you lost?
Searching your heart,
Searching your soul,
What have you lost?
Was it love?
Was it life,
Or vitality?
Was it rhyme?
Was it reason,
Or your sanity?
What have you lost,
Young one?
What have you lost?
You've paid the cost,
Young one.
You've paid the cost
For not holding on to
That which is precious.
What have you lost?
