What have we done to Generation Z?
What have we done to Generation Z?
Left them huge debts, who could break free?
Inflated the currency, raised every price
If you like your kids, how was that nice?
Playgrounds turned into pixelated parks,
Teens regret childhood chats with faceless sharks.
Images seen, can't be unseen,
Can purity's acorn yet grow clean?
So many teachers indoctrinate
But they forget their job was to educate
Kids live a world with no firebreak
No context, bound to repeat every mistake
And who made pot legal, pushed in the fast lane
Even though we know it harms the teen brain
Who convinced so many kids they are "gay"
Almost 30 percent? Who led them this way?
[chorus]
Generation Z, caught in our storm,
Left adrift, where norms transform.
Society now, unforeseen, predicted,
They'll inherit the mess that neglect inflicted.
The future we've made for these kids is bleak
And it doesn't help that we've made them sad and weak
The world getting dangerous, already fires ignite
The greatest generation is too old to set things right.
[outro]
What have we done to generation Z?
Have me made them brave, have we made them free?
The child is father to the man, it is said
I look to the future; I feel only dread.
