What Have We Done

What Have We Done Day falls to night as night turns to Day, Like a page in a old book fading away. Headlines that grab us and bring us to tears, The lies that they feed us and fill us with fears. No wonder the youth don't tend to respect, What has been left but total neglect. Never the time to relate and have fun, I doubt if alot have ever seen the sun. Games, lies and all types of divisions clouding their visions, Causing a cloud of mixed indecision. What choice do they have that's truly their own, With limited education they are no heir to a throne. Left with a shell all coloured like rust, Once a living planet now covered with dust. Where once there were trees only commercialism breeds, Thousands of species brought to their knees. Did we ever ask them what they would like?, Before our industries turned their day into night. The damage that's been caused over a period of time, No wonder she's angry this planet no shrine!. Only a wasteland stands under our feet ,no soil around just solid concrete. So they try to repair the damage that's done, How naive they have been to not realize they were holding that gun . Damian L Hunt 2000
