What Family Tree, There Is None

There I was born 65v years ago
no knowledge of my mum and dad
I was taken into a children's home
that's where I was many thought sad

But my hope was about to come good
a fine couple came to collect me
six long weeks I was in that home
till my register was legal to agree

So no blood relation do I have
cut off from family or any tie
no connection in tree and branch
cut down at root just left to die

Thankfully that fine couple adopted me
they gave me a cord to live life for free
so thankful when others have nothing
I am one, lived happily with no family tree!

(Having been adopted at 6 weeks, there's no blood connection for a family tree. Just some thoughts on what that feels.)

G'day Gordon … if you have lived and a happy and fruitful life, this alone many would really love, however, to feel disconnected from a blood line can leave a feeling of emptiness through something missing - a sad but impressive verse Gordon - thank you - Lindsay
