What Do You Do

What do you do when another’s
pain makes you cry
and yours doesn’t…
Do you inflict further misery
on yourself
or diminish theirs,
What do you do when you lose
instances of compassion
because no one seemingly has
any…
Do you deride their views
or instill in them
your long-lost hue,
What do you call
a senseless sin buried inside
when others call it pure…
Do you bury theirs with yours
and call it fact,
Where do you go
when right loses hope and
many ride along…
Do you side with them
and lose your purpose?
