What Cat
Gramps never liked cats; he was a dog person for sure
He confessed “I never liked anything with a purr”
When his wife passed, he said he’d never wed again
But then he met Ida May, a widow with vim
In just a few years she had changed him completely
we all admitted, he had become much more sweet-ly
he still pretends he does not like any tabbies or cats
the one hiding in his scarf today is quite fond of rats
what cat? he asks, pretending not to know she is there
we can all tell that he loves this little creature with care
