What Can You Do?

What can you do?
when things can't be done,
your running a race that's
already won.

The ace in the hand
hanging loose,
the look in the eye
when known,
you just hold a duce.

What can you do
when things can't be done,
pick up your cards,
cut and run?

What would you do
to heal this pain,
is love always going to be,
for gambler,for the thrill,
or the game?

Great truth's spoken here. When you find the right love there is no game playing there is true devotion. God bless you. Michael.

Ann, An enchanting poem. It flows well. Really you can'y do anything to heal pain. You have to live with it. Perhaps you wanted to write word 'gain' in place of 'game' in the last line. Thanks for reading and commenting on my Haiku 'I Cry'. Some people don't have to try to cry after smiling. it comes automatically. -Mohammad

You capture the very essence of futility brilliantly in your first stanza. Great write, Ann. Love, Nigel

First I love the poem and how it flows. The rhyming is done effortlessly and the message is very clear. The voice in the poem is in a state of conflict. I love that about this write. Well done Ann. Love, Chris.
