What a Dream
Life, a hazy shadow,
starts, a morning rainbow.
Glittering, nothing offers
but dream, hope: empty coffers.
Soon, the haze begins to wander;
and the heart, too, to ponder.
Always dreaming, always somber,
life ambles, an ebbing ember.
The curtain will then fall,
shoving hope into a pall.
Dream, sure, rests with sunset,
life thrust into eternal closet.
So, start the day eastward
but set the eye westward.
Life's a flowing stream
that ends, a fleeting dream.
