We'Re Just Borrowing

We take a couple of pens from work A blue one as well as a black A pad of post-its too; who would know Anyway, someday we'll give it all back... 'Thou shalt not steal,' thunders a Voice Midst fire and smoke, trumpets and wonder '100%,' comes the reply: 'We're just borrowing' Without asking permission, Truth's torn asunder

This is hilarious "Anyway, someday we'll give it all back..." So funny to think we'd take a pen back.

I actually know someone who returned pens that he took from the office -- but they were all busted and/or leaky. Can you imagine?! -- Some People! Harrumph. ~ gw

I once fired an employee caught stealing a ream of copy paper; her excuse was that it was for god's work, i.e., her Sunday School students to use, but the Personnel Director also believed in god's work, so she was re-hired and transferred to another branch for the greater glory of god. I guess "render unto Caesar" does not mean "seize her!" Aloha! Rico

'God's work,' eh? Talk about a hypocrite!! It's people like her who drive well-meaning folks away from 'religion.' How low can she stoop? Glad you fired her, Rico. Fire her again. And again. :) gw

When you think about it its theft. I remember when I was at work a lady took a few leaflets with money off coupons and she got fired. Saving a couple of pounds cost her her job. Tom

Stealing is stealing is stealing, as Gertrude Stein might have put it. Cheers, gw

There is that “fine-tip” line. That one pen slips in as if saying. “Oops..., “ then other “inky” friends join the party.

In your example 'inky' is certainly villanous. That 'fine-tip' line -- I hear it, but I personally don't subsribe to it. What's not mine is not mine, and I have zero right to it. Cal me 'Mr. Black and White' (No Shades of Gray) when it comes to the Commandments 5 - 10. ~ B&W

Great comment, Seeker: 'Feel-good' is all that matters today for so many. A 'civilization,' if we can still call it that, unraveled. :) gw
