Welcoming Goodbye

The afternoon breeze
                teases the ring-dancing
                ripples on the smooth
                lagoon,

                as feathery clouds
                whiff low across the pale,
                much-too-early, crescent
                moon.

                The setting sun sleepily
                sinks into the sea,
                'neath the crimsoning
                sky,

                as shadows of fading
                light herald this very
                day's welcoming
                goodbye.
