Welcome To My Life
1988, April 9th, the day I was born.
My Journey began at early dawn.
Saint Augustine's was the place.
At half past four and it was a race.
God put me in the arms of my new Mother and Father.
And beside them, my new family and big Brother.
He said, "There you are little one, a new family I give to You."
I cried with joy and the family did too.
It was a hard choice at first to choose my name.
As they came up with different ones each new day.
It was said to be Bianca, Leigh or Natasha.
But my aunt chose the best, and that was Sasha.
Many new people were met.
And up to this day i will not regret.
For God has sent me to a place full of love and care.
A place where they always give and share.
As months and years went by, the family grew big.
With mum's and dad's side all at one jig.
But soon the happiness ended tragically.
When dad got shot but survived miraculously.
We were happy he was alive but sad he couldn't walk.
He can't move his hands or body but he can talk.
Soon the family began to grow apart.
And that's when the problems began to start.
Some family never called or even came by.
Only when they needed something and i silently began to cry.
They never came to help, only just a few who were around.
My tears were so much, i could have drowned.
Rumours were been spread about mum, bro and i.
From families that lived really close by.
It was sad to hear about the things they had said.
Although it hurt us, we tried not to care.
God saw what happened and sent Angels to my rescue.
He sent me good Friends and mum's family too.
They Always did their best to comfort me.
Its because of them, my tears decreased.
He brought me closer to the friends and family i truly love.
Cause He's taking real good care of me from above.
I cant ask for more, as he gave me all that i need.
And with Him and them by my side, i know i will succeed.
Written when i was in Grade 10 - 2003 - The First poem i have written.
