Welcome Home
Welcome Home
I knew it the moment you looked at me
That you would judge me and decide
I was the guy you had in mind
As the only one of his kind
Too bad to say that you are not always
On my mind; you are not my academic research
Material that I’d fill plain pages with
But forever in my heart; here with me you soul search
Wait a minute for my fear to subside.
I know you think I am the one who stands
In front of you enchanting your evenings,
Taking your breath away
Truth be told; I borrow this image I bring to you.
I leave myself at home, where I am safe to be
As I know that you’d not like me
But soon the owner of this image will come for it.
When he comes, he’ll ask me for his image
Or ask me to pay a high fee for it
Give me a minute to go and pick my self
Or bring my home to you so that with
My home here and you in it
I will feel safe to be me
I have no money to pay the image owner
But I have enough to bring my home to you
Please forgive me for the inconvenience
Of having to swap my self
Understand that I was afraid you’d not like me
My self at home is honest and adorable
Now that I know you love me
I can bring my home here for you to meet me
And I give this image back to the owner
It has been painful to be someone else
A minute will bring you to my home
Where you will meet with myself
Close and personal; intimate and pure
Welcome home.
