Welcome Home
I've been a lot of places I didn't want to go
I've been forced to learn some things I did not want to know.
I've watched a lot of friends die while I stood helplessly
Hearing the steel hornet sing knowing one was seeking me.
I thought I was doing my duty like so many had before
Risking all for God and country upon some distant shore.
Baby killer some have called me and since then I've heard worse
Instead of coming back heroes we're still living under a curse.
But some day when I reach heaven where I won't have to stand alone
I know I'll hear my Savior say,"Stand easy troop and welcome home."
