Welcome Home

Welcome home I've definitely missed you, Things are changed I see you have too. This soft couch You and I chilled on, Its now ripped and messy Because of me from nights long gone. You probably don't remember All the holes in the wall, Those are from my fists After you made that call. I'm sure you remember The sweet memories we wish could last, Like a simple walk Too bad my mind and time has passed. Where did this glass come from Those are bottles I've thrown, In anger and frustration Realizing I was on my own. Nothing is the same anymore Not even a simple kiss, When you left all was lost The feeling of your lips. You say just lighten up again Sorry I can't live up to that, Because you caused my pain To spiral and that's a fact. You want me love you once more But how can I when I'm broken, All I had was myself to look to help It is nothing but different.

Congratulations Nick for your honorable mention placement in the contest. There were so many fine poems entered. This conveyed the anger and sorrow at a broken relationship well, bravo
