Weird Way of Thinking
“The way I see it,”
The youngster said,
“There’s an easier way
To be getting ahead.”
“Why should study
And continue in school
When claiming entitlements
Seems to be the rule?”
“I don’t need to study
Nor complete my degree,
Society will willingly
Take care of me.”
This mindset seems
To be the norm of the day.
Gone is the ethic
Of a former way.
And we still wonder why
The world’s in a mess.
Should we this ignorance
So readily confess?
