Weeping Moon

As I look up at the starless sky I see the weeping moon shine bright Secretly wishing I could fly Across the skies to were my heart truly lies I miss my father, who’s far away leading another life with Another wife They have daughter beautiful as can be I secretly wish that she was me I never knew my father until I was grown Now we are the best of friends But my heart still longs for forgotten memories That were never shared between A father and his oldest daughter

unlike you i had a father. not all the memories are good ones, but it ballances it self out. and not many people can say their best friends with a man who wasn't there. but you did well in the forgiving and mending and finding in what love could be. forgetting the past......jhl

I read the next poem first so I'm really emotional right now honey. I will carry the regret of the years we lost to my grave Sarah. That is a pain that will never die. I'm sorry for what i was honey. I love you, Dad

I imagine this brought many regretful tears to your dad's eyes. I suppose we must count the blessings we have, as I am sure you do. You are a talented poetess, and it is wonderful to have you here. Love, Shar

This made me a little teary. My grandfather did the same thing to his family.. My mother and her sisters were neglected, and still are for the most part. I'm sorry to hear this, at least the two of you have reunited to create some memories.. right? Emotional piece. -brittany

I feel for you. It is a sad fact of life, that we make mistakes, and wish we could retify the people we've hurt or left behind. We can't turn back time, but hopefully can make the best of the future. God Bless.....Carrie

This is sad, but true for so many daughters. As a man gets older, he then realizes his importance in being a part of every year of his childrens life. You are blessed to have the chance to know him. You now have a sister, I know you love her. Always, Christy
