Weekends

Weekend days stretch before me-
48 empty hours,

I keep myself busy with a never-ending to-do list,
but, when I am fatigued

I take long drives to explore distant towns,

Enjoying endless observation and exploration-

Watching light dance on river currents,
people watching and eavesdropping,
antique stores and woodland trails.

I use this time to grow in-
Wisdom, Self-awareness, Introspection, Independence.

Then, on the drive home,
I think of you and turn up the radio

At home, I resume my chores
and prepare for the week ahead.
