Weathering the Storm
To darkened days of stormy thoughts
I bid farewell with a wintry kiss
My lips in frost and peppermint
to your inclination of mind dismiss
To clouds of shadowed, muted skies
I serenade you with my eyes
a breath of cold air lullabies
to blow you on your merry way
To doubt engulfed in misted rain
I weave you a silently subtle refrain
My heartbeat kept steady by an absence of pain
as my skin won't absorb your dismay
To me, in all my hidden storms
I challenge defiance to get in my path
My countenance solid and strikingly long
through the darkening days of emotion to last...
